Damage Types
8 entries| Name | Description |
|---|---|
| Cutting | Standard bladed slashing damage. One of the three base physical weapon damage types; highly effective against unarmored, fleshy, or lightly armored targets. |
| Piercing | Puncturing stab damage. One of the three base physical weapon damage types; penetrates armor and is highly effective at piercing enemy shields. |
| Blunt | Crushing bludgeoning damage. One of the three base physical weapon damage types; exceptionally effective against armored enemies, skeletons, and stone or Hallow Hall foes. |
| Fire | A highly destructive element against most vegetation, beasts, and the undead (Fell). Amplified by fire-damage bonuses and magic-fire bonuses on staff weapons. |
| Ice | Slows enemies and deals heavy damage to certain constructs and Hollow foes. Also referred to as Frost in some wiki and in-game contexts. |
| Shock | Deals high burst damage and interacts with the Soaked mechanic: hitting a soaked enemy with shock reduces its resistance and triggers bonus critical hits. Also referred to as Lightning in some wiki and in-game contexts. |
| Poison | Applies damage over time (DoT). Undead and construct enemies are generally immune. |
| Shroud | Magic derived directly from the deadly Shroud fog. Incredibly strong against entities that do not originate from the Shroud, but useless against Fell enemies, which are immune to it. |
